Momentum

Our approach

Momentum helps you turn an intention into a specific action you repeat. It draws on practical, widely used habit-building ideas: deciding on a cue (“after I finish dinner, I will read 10 pages”), starting small, keeping a record of what you did, noticing what got in the way, and celebrating when you reach a milestone you set.

This app has not been clinically tested, and it isn't medical or psychological treatment. It doesn't measure or change brain chemistry, and there's no fixed number of days after which a habit is guaranteed to stick.

How progress is counted

A session counts when you record the full amount you planned for a scheduled day. Partial effort is shown, but doesn't count as a full session. Your streak counts consecutive scheduled sessions you completed. Days that aren't scheduled, days you've paused, and days you mark as excused neither add to nor break it.

A missed day resets the current streak, but never removes the sessions you've already completed or your best streak. Rewards unlock on the total number of sessions, not the streak, so a hard week doesn't take your reward away.

What success looks like

The point is the time you spend doing the thing, not time spent in the app. There are no leaderboards, no paid streak repairs and no random prizes. If you miss a day, your progress is still there. Start again today.

Rewards

Rewards are yours to choose and arrange. Momentum doesn't buy, pay for or check them; you mark a reward as claimed when you've given it to yourself. A reward can be free, such as an afternoon on a hobby, and basic needs like food, rest or care never need to be earned.
